CLASS 101: INTRODUCTION TO CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
You were designed to be a part of a local community of faith. And that’s exactly what First Baptist Church is intended to be – your family of
faith. That’s why at FBCPV we want to share with you what we believe and where we’re going.

CLASS 101 is the basic introduction to our faith community. It is designed to clearly explain who and what our church is. The class, broken
into four sessions covers …Our Salvation, Our Statements, Our Strategy and Our Structure and is taught by Pastor Matt. This is a great
opportunity to learn about First Baptist, get to know others who are on the journey with Jesus, and have a free meal as well (dinner’s on us).

You don’t have to become a member to attend – it’s just for your information. We’ll explain what we believe, how we operate, and a little of
the history of our church. We’ll answer your questions, share information on our church’s future plans, and how you may become a
member. At the end of the CLASS there will be an opportunity for you to decide whether to complete the process and become a member or
wait and decide at another time. No pressure whatsoever, we want you to be comfortable with whichever choice you make.

CLASS 201: GROWING DEEPER IN CHRIST SUNDAY
God created you to love you. The best method for our enjoyment of God is growing deeply in the things God says are important. This
seminar focuses on the four basic habits every Christian needs to grow to spiritual maturity:
Time in God's Word which will feed your soul and provide direction every day of your life.
  • Prayer which is conversation with God. This allows you time to communicate your heart to God and express your needs to Him.
  • Stewardship which is the management of all God has given us for His glory. We will discover God not only blesses us with resources
of time, talents ad treasures, He also expects a certain use of them as well.
  • Fellowship means becoming a part of the family on a closer basis. The church is the body of Christ and we are the members of it
individually. Just as you need every part of your physical body working in a coordinated manner as well as being healthy, so too
FBCPV needs you to do the same with the spiritual body of Christ here!
This class is very practical and will help you grow deep in your walk with Jesus! To register: Check the “[] 201: Introduction to Spiritual
Maturity Class” box on the back side of your Response Card on Sunday. A light dinner is included in the evening’s schedule!

CLASS 301: YOU WERE SHAPED FOR SERVING GOD!
In this class, I wanted to share with you …
  • What gets me out of bed in the morning! What caused me to move First Baptist of Palos Verdes! What gives me incredible hope and
joy every day, despite my circumstances! What causes me to feel incredible significance in life!  more

CLASS 401: I WAS MADE FOR A MISSION!
You were made for a mission! God is at work and He wants you to join Him! This assignment is called your mission. God wants you to have
both a ministry to the Body of Christ and a mission in the world. Your ministry is your service to believers and your mission is your service to
unbelievers. Fulfilling your mission in the world is God’s purpose for your life. Our goal is to equip every believer in the church so that he or
she will be able to personally get involved in carrying out a simple evangelistic strategy. By the end of the course, every participant should
be ready, able, and motivated to do the following.

CLASS 501:  YOU WERE PLANNED FOR GOD'S PLEASURE!
Dinner provided  At the core of who we are as followers of Jesus Christ is the reality that we are to “love God with all of our heart, soul, mind
and heart.” The Bible calls this worship – our expression of God’s worth to our lives. In other words, we are to joyously celebrate God with
all of our lives! Worship is to be the central force of our lives.
